In everyday life, objects, figures, and spaces are represented through personal lenses. In art, there is no factual way of perceiving light or figure, as it is purely an interpretation of the viewer. In my work, I aim to continue my journey in depicting figures and spatial atmosphere through calculated color and weighted mark making. I hope to stimulate life and character in a visual sense through color and atmosphere that enables my subjects to come to life in both personality and rhythm. As Marcel Proust states, “The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."
